About AuthorDaniel Livingston has lived in about 20 different places – shifting almost every year of his life – between four different countries and four states of Australia. He finished high school at Narromine in central NSW. He then went to the University of Technology, Sydney, where he graduated in 2001 from a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) with the university medal. After spending a few months as a graduate engineer with Cardno MBK, with whom he worked for a total of about one and a half years during his degree, Daniel volunteered with ADRA Madagascar for five months, before commencing his PhD at UNSW. For more information see www.danlivingston.com. About the ResearchDaniel is conducting his PhD research at UNSW. This site presents overviews the findings and outputs of that research. Daniel's motivation for conducting this research is the realisation that water presents some of the biggest environmental and human health challenges for today and our future. He wants to use his engineering skills, broadened with social and policy understanding gained through this research, to help achieve more sustainable outcomes both for developed countries and also for developing countries, where human livelihoods are so directly impacted by water and sanitation.
